mandy olivieri is a multidisciplinary artist based out of NYC and Savannah, GA. As a recent graduate of the Fibers BFA program at Savannah College of Art and Design, she finds artistic expression in a spectrum of media, encompassing both hand rendering techniques and digital fabrications.

With a primary focus on digital fabrications, Mandy has delved deeply into the world of creative technology. Her skill set includes 3D modeling for Polyjet print, CNC routing, laser cutting, flatbed resin printing, and intricate molding and casting. This digital expertise serves as the foundation upon which her artistry thrives.

Alongside her passion for digital fabrications, she incorporates traditional textile craft in much of her work. Her interest in tactility drives her to bring ideas from the computer to reality in unconventional ways. The work often goes through the computer-to-print process several times before its completion, each iteration further facilitating her identity in cumulative creation. Post print, much of the work is embroidered, screen printed, collaged, sewn together, assembled into larger projects, or even scanned back in and digitized once again.

The cornerstone of Mandy’s process is her ability to collect creative assets. By developing thousands of digital motifs and hand rendered “little nothings,” the body of work is able to speak in cohesion, as many pieces pull inspiration from the same place. This is evident throughout her senior thesis, entitled “PLAY,” as she experiments with multiple mediums under the framework of repetitive imagery and process, often using finished projects as small assets of further pieces.

She hopes to channel these skills as a creative fabricator, 3D designer, textile artist or simply as an independent creator collaborating on larger projects. In this way, she herself mimics her work, becoming a singular asset to the much larger end goal.
